The key to spellcasting is to be comfortable with the ritual, if it is not comfortable you will feel awkward and the final end result will be nothing.

I use spells that can be memorized easily, that means re-writing a lot of them into rhyme. Keep a book with your spells in it, but DO NOT let anyone know what or where it is. This is to protect them as well as you. Sadly persecution is still a part of todays society, and even friends may accidentaly mention the wrong thing at the wrong time to the wrong person.
